Free Teacher Membership

As a Teacher Member, you become part of a community of educators dedicated to making the most of the Museum as a learning tool. The Museum has been helping educators present lessons about a wide range of maritime topics since 1960, and we look forward to having you on board.

As a Teacher Member, you'll receive the following benefits:

Discount of $1 per student for up to 30 students for one group visit per year.

Involvement

From time to time the Museum will request input from Teacher Members on new educational programs and exhibits. One of our goals is to provide tools and programming that is useful to you, the teacher, in your efforts to encourage curiosity and learning in your students. Your experience and expertise will help the Museum craft the kinds of lessons your students need. Are any of the Pennsylvania Academic Standards difficult to meet through classroom instruction? Would some be more effectively met through lessons based in the Museum or on Olympia or Becuna? Teacher Members will help the Museum identify the areas of greatest need and formulate programs to fill these needs.

Experience

As a Teacher Member, you'll be eligible to participate in ISM Members Only events. Guest lectures, behind-the-scenes tours and exhibit openings are among the events enjoyed by ISM Members.
