A Sailor's Ditty Box

Nearly every sailor aboard the USS Olympia kept his personal possessions in a wooden container known as a ditty box.

Among other items, the ditty box here contains eating utensils, a comb, a bar of soap, a small journal, a straight razor, and dice for playing games.
