MYTH was recently restored to her original condition and is now on display in the museum's small craft gallery (see above picture).
This catboat was built in the late 19th century and extensively rebuilt in 1939 by Morton Johnson of Bay Head, N.J. The fine portrait of MYTH at right was taken in the 1970s.
She is typical of the catboats of her era. Frequently used as charter boats, these catboats carried removable cabins that could be left on the dock when carrying a large party in fair weather. MYTH has such a cabin, and was sailed as a yacht through all of her known history.
