The flat-bottom rowboat was the all purpose boat of
the age of sail. Straightforward to build, these boats
also possess a utilitarian grace.
This flattie was built to be part of our What Floats
Your Boat? exhibit and was launched and used prior
to being placed on display. Ariele Monzo of
Turnersville, NJ, entered the winning name SEA WE'D in the Museum's November 2002 naming contest.
